Horse fair comes to our rural village!

Dating back to 13th Century, this colourful tradition takes place on 20th May each year when the Travelling Community gather to sell and race ponies and horses.
Stallholders and a funfair fill The Square, but of course, this means there is no official parking available during the event. Even the residents are inconvenienced to a certain degree as many of the surrounding streets are closed to traffic.
Indeed, the Centre also plays a part. Situated on the edge of the village, its car park may be used by those caught out by the road closures, and the Police turn most of the rooms into a command centre to direct operations during the event.
